Coating Processes

In line with the installation and control of painting and coating systems, Abis also offers to perform/advise on tests for the quality of coating. A number of techniques exist for the evaluation of coating processes. A common technique is optical inspection of coatings looking for cracking, discolouration or lack of adhesion of the coating to the surface.

The surface of the coating can also be profiled and several roughness measurements performed. Mechanical tests include hardness and flexural analysis of coatings. Using the range of our equipment and software we can help develop customised coating evaluation tests.
 We can also develop physical properties measurement methods such as thermal conductivity or other properties for technical, e.g. electro-ceramic, coatings and tailor them for the requirements of customers’ process. We will work with you to select the correct tests to be performed.
